It’s October, fall season is here, and the year is almost gone! Most of us had big plans for year 2020. After all, it’s a new decade and the number sounds kinda cool; however, many of our dreams were interrupted by the pandemic.
While that sounds pretty tragic, I believe that there is still time left to take back some of the days that were stolen from us and build beautiful memories. The trick is to find joy in the most simple activities. That easy! So… without further due, here is a list that I promise will help you get in the autumn spirit!
Fall Bucket List
Visit a pumpkin patch
An absolute MUST on my list. It’s the fastest way to get you in the autumn spirit. Click the link here to find the best pumpkin patch in every state!
Carve a pumpkin
Time to get messy and get your hands dirty for some creativity. Not sure where to start? Check out this link to get some inspiration and learn how to start carving.
Bake your favorite pie
By favorite pie I’m not referring only to the classic pumpkin and apple pies. There is so much more you can bake. Personally, I’ve tried a couple of recipes that are consistently a hit with my friends and family. Check out my post here for some yummy fall dessert recipes.
Enjoy a Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte
Grab your family and friends and stop by your nearest Starbucks’ store to enjoy one of these delicious drinks before the season is over
Decorate your home
Who doesn’t like cozy blankets, decorative pumpkins, plaid pillows and a harvest wreath? If you need some inspiration, click here for a previous post on easy home fall decor tips.
Start a new book
The weather is getting nicer after that hot summer so make sure to cozy up with your new blankets and pick your new favorite book.
Watch an Autumn themed movie
Here are some classics to watch this season:
- A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
- When Harry Met Sally
- Practical Magic
- You’ve Got Mail
- Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone
- Silver Linings Playbook
Ask a friend how their heart is doing
Little acts of kindness go a long way. We often talk to our loved ones but our conversations at times can be a tad superficial. Make sure you take the time to connect in a meaningful way with those that matter the most to you.
That’s right! Anything plaid with Levi’s jeans and your favorite boots are pretty much the trend of the season.
Shop the after summer sales
Fall is the best time to take advantage of the monumental sales as we approach the end of the year. I find the greatest deals at Amazon (Prime day is almost always in October), Loft, Old Navy, Abercrombie & Fitch, Macy’s, and Banana Republic.
Light a fall candle
The easiest way to make your home smell like autumn! Pick your favorite scent from any of these here and you are ready to go!
Open your windows
Let the breeze into your house. It’s too nice outside to not enjoy the weather even when working from home.
Spend time in prayer and meditation
Last but not least! Regardless of your faith or spiritual practice, don’t forget to dedicate some time to reflect in silence. Studies show that centering yourself in quietness for a few minutes a day can have an impact on your mood and mental health.
